BIO
Jeremy was born and raised in Lubbock TX where he graduated from Monterey High School and went on to get his Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance (with a concentration in cello performance) at Texas Tech University in 2016. While at Texas Tech University, he joined Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia (a nationwide musical fraternity created to spread knowledge of musical performance and education across America) where he served as the Fraternity Education Officer. Currently, Jeremy is a full-time gigging musician (playing both original music and covers on guitar) within the Lubbock area. In 2019, Jeremy was a finalist in the esteemed Blue Light Live: Singer/Songwriter Competition as well as placed second in both the LHUCA and Park East Battle of the Bands competitions. He teaches supplemental cello lessons at schools within Lubbock Independent School District and teaches private cello lessons to students in Lubbock and surrounding areas. Along with playing music at various local venues, he has performed with orchestras including the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra and the Lubbock Civic Orchestra (as well as other surrounding symphonies). In 2015, Jeremy won the annual Texas Tech Concerto Competition during his Junior year of college, competing against undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students. In 2017, he was asked to play cello in a local production of the Rock-Ballet, Click (written by local musicians/music producers, Scott and Amy Faris alongside Ballet Lubbock). Jeremy has also danced (as a Party Parent) in the local production of The Nutcracker put on by Ballet Lubbock. He is deeply involved in the Lubbock arts community, playing solo, with his own band, and also with many other musical projects such as Tango Llaneros (a local tango ensemble) and Slow Relics (a local indie rock group). Jeremy is highly committed to arts education within our community and to supporting local art and artists.
