Music Friendly

Lubbock Is A Certified
Texas Music Friendly

Official Designation

In August 2020, Lubbock, Texas was honored to be certified as a Texas Music Friendly Community by the Texas Music Office in the Office of the Governor.

Texas Music Friendly Communities

This program assists communities with “being on the map” in Texas as destinations for great music and great music venues as well as opportunities for recording artists.

The Texas Music Friendly certification encourages the upkeep of a directory of bands, musicians, venues and radio stations to allow for easy access of the “who and what” of a music community. It also promotes the creation of a music advisory committee made up of a diverse collection of experts. This committee is the creative momentum behind developing the programming for Lubbock music. For 2021, a series of professional development workshops on publishing, copyrighting, marketing, venue booking and creating a solid foundation for a music career will be offered.
