Our Programs

ARTS AFTER HOURS

These casual gatherings are meant to be a way to network and encourage communication and collaboration. They are rotated throughout both art venues and venues with food and beverage to keep the event fresh and enjoyable to attend. No agendas, just conversations.

ARTS AND CULTURE CATCH UP

These events are a one hour meet up. They began as Zoom calls during COVID and have transitioned into quarterly coffee meetings. This allows another way for creatives to get to know one another, continually strengthening connections and collaborations.

BUFFALO GRASS FEST

This program is a direct result from the Lubbock Music Friendly Community program. A hybrid music conference and festival. The team brings in a featured artist each year who not only performs, but also participates in an outreach component to area middle schools, high schools and colleges. The team which puts this event together includes arts organizations, music education organizations, commercial musicians, museums, school districts and higher education. It is a very unique event in its collaborative style and team.

GETTING THE GIG

This project is another music education event for performers uniting emerging musicians with established live music venues to encourage those introductions. The event showcases a panel of venues who share how they choose talent, book and prefer to be approached. There is also a showcase for performers so they can be on stage while the venue managers are present. This invaluable event for emerging artists has lead to new gigs as a result.

CREATIVE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SERIES

Each year, LCAF has created a series of professional development programs related to business practices for creatives to help them strengthen their business. Many of the series are recorded and uploaded to the Lubbock Cultural Arts Foundation’s YouTube channel for free public viewing. Topics have included:

  • Financial planning
  • Social Media
  • Marketing
  • Artwork Sales
  • Strategies
  • Live Sound
  • Touring
  • Price Negotiation
