The duo performers “Cary and Steve” are Cary C Banks and Steve Williams
Cary C Banks is a musician/songwriter/author and music publisher and former Professor of Music at South Plains College. As a member of the Maines Brothers band , he was inducted into the West Texas Walk of Fame, is an award winning songwriter and author. He has performed on stage with such legendary artists as Linda Ronstadt, Joe Ely, Bo Diddley, Pat Green, Radney Foster, Terry Allen, Terri Hendrix, Jody Nix, Amanda shires and many others. He was Professor of Music and Chairman of the Creative Arts Department at South Plains College for 23 years. His songs, “Sittin Around Pickin” and “Playscape” and “Don’t Look Back” recorded with Steve Williams have been featured on Lubbock Music Now compilation CDs and their recording “Sounds Like Texas” was featured in Texas Music magazine compilation CD Summer 2016 issue.
Steve Williams is a legendary guitarist musician in the West Texas area . He has performed with such legendary artists as Dale McBride, Terry McBride, Marcia Ball and many others. A multi – instrumentalist he is proficient on guitar, pedal steel guitar , dobro , and bass, he has been featured instrumentalist on many recordings by Texas artists . He was Assistant Professor of Music at South Plains College and is part of the Praise and Worship ensemble at First United Methodist Church in Lubbock Texas. Steve is a much sought after guitarist and performs with numerous artists in the West Texas area.
