Getting the Gig and Showcase 2024

The premiere event for connecting musicians with live music venues is scheduled for Friday, December 13, 2024, at the Cactus Theater 10:00am to 3:00pm. The 4th Annual “Getting the Gig” will have a great live music venue panel to answer questions and share their practices for choosing live music at their facility.
Venues represented will be
Cactus Theater, Hotel Turkey, LHUCA, and The Lubbock Listening Room. The purpose of the event is to facilitate conversations between musicians and venues and assisting in the process of booking a live performance.

New this year!! There will be a $100 stipend to each musician who performs in the showcase.
Schedule
The event will begin with the live music venue panel followed by a discussion on the art of creating a business plan as a musician. A business plan template will be provided to all attendees. After the workshop sessions lunch will be provided by the food truck Llano Cubano followed by a showcase of emerging musicians. The day will end by approximately 3:00pm.
There is no charge for this event, however, a reservation is required to guarantee your space. Musicians interested in performing in the showcase will find information on applying for that within the registration form. An anonymous panel of judges made up of some of Lubbock’s most esteemed musicians and record producers will select the participants for the showcase. Musicians should have a video clip which may be uploaded to apply to participate. Showcase participation is not required to attend the event.

Application to play in the showcase must be received by December 6th for consideration.
