JoJo
BIO
Jojo is a Lubbock native. Having been born and raised in West Texas he hopes to provide the community with a fresh perspective on the strengths of art and its inherent value. Jojo has worked in many areas of the arts and utilizes his skills to foster his observational and storytelling abilities.
Drawing Horse Studios is the space and outlet he uses to help mentor, demonstrate, create, and practice honing his craft. Co-owners Brandon Adkins and Jojo focus on events open to the public like: figure drawing, costume modeling, caricature lessons, comic book making, first Friday exhibits, and plein air classes. Many of these are free gatherings and meant to bring awareness to the Hub city.
Some of his artistic endeavors include professional caricature work, professional animation work, community building, mentoring professionals into successful art ventures, creating networks to feed highly leveled and skilled students into, providing creative opportunities for people in the community, introducing professional grade artists to the locals, and ultimately getting people aware of the available job market for artists.
Jojo’s art in all it’s forms is a reminder of the connection we have to each other. Whether it is through the demonstration of figure drawing, plein air painting, caricature, back ground designing, etc. the art provides a vehicle to much more reflective things.
